Louisiana DOTD
Managed environmental services related to compliance with DOTD’s USACE Nationwide 23 permit and LDEQ’s NPDES requirements for the $59.9 million widening of I-10. Changes in design at the Ward Creek Diversion Canal required two separate modifications to the NW 23 permit and the purchase of additional mitigation credits. These efforts were coordinated with the USACE New Orleans District and the construction schedule was not impacted by the permit modifications. Construction was completed in 2013.
Mississippi Department of Transportation
Managed environmental services related to compliance with MDOT’s USACE General Permit No. 46 and MDEQ’s Stormwater Construction General NPDES requirements for the $68.5 million construction of I-269. High quality wetlands and poor soil conditions in the vicinity of the Coldwater River made this construction project unique in that construction access from the ground was denied. Numerous specialized BMP’s were developed to maintain water quality.
Our staff has lead hundreds of projects involving natural resource permitting efforts for private development, commercial development, subdivisions, condominiums, resort facilities, mitigation sites, and the construction of large scale transportation infrastructure. Design-build projects represent some of the most challenging environmental compliance projects as permits are often required to be modified as the projects evolve from preliminary to final design. Our staff has served on design-build teams responsible for assessing risk related to design modifications, permitting design modifications, and monitoring permit compliance.
